Open-Source Jailbreak Linux server

News: 0.95 is out. The Windows client is on the official site. The sidebar link here is to a tarball for the Linux server. This archive definitely contains a working server, so if you're having trouble with the official distribution try this.

Older news: I ported the Open-Source Jailbreak codebase to Linux. This was mostly a matter of cleaning up some old C++ dialect, promoted by a sloppy Visual Studio compiler. (Friends don't let friends use Microsoft.) You can download my current build from the link in the sidebar. The source is also available. Use the changelog to see what I changed and why. (Though none of my recent work is in my local perforce database.)

As I learn more about Half-life mod development I'll probably start contributing features to the mod. I think it's pretty cool and fun to play as-is, though. Mostly what it needs is modelers and skinners.

Most recent change:

Warning: virtual() [function.virtual]: Unable to include 'get_latest_releasenote.cgi' - request execution failed in /home/ceej/web/nerdchow/osjb/index.php on line 93

Current task:
Reading the TFC vgui example so I can figure out how to write one for OSJB. Answer: it's not so bad, once you already have custom console commands implemented for your mod. The only extra thing OSJB has to do is send up a map list to the client so the vgui framework can build buttons. Ditto for the player list for kick-voting.
